Test yourself

A test? Already? No way

You have worked hard, you have studied hard and you have earned your time to relax, right? Well, maybe not. You want to be sure you understand what you need to understand. I am not talking about understanding the assignment given, but about the material, the information, or the skill. The best and easiest way to be sure you have learnt something is by testing yourself.

How to do this?

If you have a textbook, have a look at the headings. Do you know what they mean? If so, explain it to yourself or write it down in a short fashion.

You could also work with a partner and have them ask you random questions about the material. Be sure to take turns doing this, it is quite an effective technique to get better grades through better understanding.

If you have been working with a spoken text, like a lecture or a recording, you may have taken notes. Use these notes to test yourself. Look for keywords, exxplain what they mean or how they correlate with one another.
